I don’t want to get into it too much, but I don’t entirely agree with the popular(among people who know what it is) opinion on cultural appropriation.
I do know what Dia de los Muertos is and I adore it as a concept. I assumed the person wearing the makeup was educated about it and was using it as symbolism rather than solely an aesthetic, though perhaps I was incorrect.
